Privacy policy

Your images

Your images are never uploaded. Every tool on this site processes files inside your browser tab using the canvas API and a web worker. The file is read from your disk into the page's memory, worked on, and written back out as a download.

This is not a promise you have to take on trust. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the network tab, and compress an image. You will see no request carrying your file, because there is no server on the other end of these tools and no code in the page that would send one.

Because nothing is uploaded, there is nothing for us to store, nothing to leak, and nothing to delete. We could not produce a copy of your image if we were asked for one.

What is collected

Standard web server logs record the page you requested, your IP address, your browser's user agent string and the time of the request. These are produced by the hosting provider as a normal part of serving a page and are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

Advertising

This site carries display advertising. Ad networks and their partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to measure and target advertising. That behaviour is controlled by the ad network, not by this site, and it applies to the pages you view — never to the contents of the images you open in the tools, which the network has no access to.

You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ad Settings and through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.

Local storage

The tools may store your preferences — the size limit and output format you last used — in your browser's local storage so you do not have to set them again. That data stays on your device and is readable only by this site. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
